3 Good Reasons To Have A Security Fence As A Prepper

Posted on: 25 February 2020

You pride yourself on being a prepper, or someone who takes special care to plan for those emergency disasters that can have you holed up in your home as if it were a fortress. You may have built a healthy stock of food and water supplies, stockpiled fuel for a generator, and even created plans of action for different types of emergencies.

However, if you have not taken measures to install a fence, this could be an important part of your prepping practices. A high-security fence, such as a tall chain-link fence or even a wooden privacy fence, can make a huge difference if the chaos of society ensues.

Maintain security easier with your perimeter marked.

When you have a clear dividing barricade between your property and the outside world, it becomes far easier to recognize when someone is on your property when they shouldn't be. With high-security fences that are often taller and may completely conceal the view beyond the fence, it will definitely be easier to see if someone has made it past the perimeter fence and is on their way to your house. With an open property boundary, you could be approached from any angle, and it may be harder to notice.

Deter thieves and vandals during a bad situation.

When there is a fence in place, the property is automatically less accessible than what it would be without a fence, especially if you have opted for a high-security version. Therefore, if people have taken to the streets to plunder and steal to get what they need, they will be less likely to try to get into your property if you have a high-security fence in place. While there is always a possibility that someone could climb a fence in these scenarios, most vandals will go for easier targets first, so you should have more time to get prepared.

Protect your family and food at a time when violence and theft are common.

There are two things you have to protect carefully during a catastrophe: your family and your food. Family is naturally going to be your top priority, but your food stores will be a valuable item to have in the event all grocery stores are emptied and others have not prepared for such events. Your installation of a high-security fence is a simple way to make sure your family and food are better protected. You can even install surveillance cameras to better monitor your property from inside the house.
